About VIPS
Volunteers in Police Services (VIPS) are dedicated residents who assist the Hayward Police Department across multiple departments, including:
Crime Prevention
Special Duty Unit
Downtown Safety Officer
Property & Evidence
Records Bureau
Animal Services
VIPS receive specialized training in their assigned areas. While this is a volunteer role, the experience and service you provide are invaluable to our operations.

Interview Process:
Participate in an interview with the Police Department.
Background Check:
Complete a background investigation, including a no-cost fingerprint examination.
